This week, Mary Beth and Terry sit down with director Mattie Do! She's the filmmaker behind Chanthaly, Dearest Sister and this year's The Long Walk, which is currently in theaters and on demand. We discuss her family's relationship to film as refugees, how personal tragedies helped inform the making of The Long Walk and dig into the themes of the devastating and horrific film. And then we discuss The Killing Fields, a movie Mattie saw very, very young and was a very personal experience. We discuss the way the film utilizes both American and Cambodian people, the relationship between the two leads, the horrific trauma of a war that isn't as well known in American history and so much more.

Sometimes we talk very frivolous and fun scarring moments. Sometimes we get real. This episode gets heavy. Spoiler alert: we cry.
