Hey Scaredy Cats. Travel with us back through history as we land in 17th century New England. It wasn’t an easy life for the Puritans who immigrated from England in pursuit of so called religious freedom. First you had to deal with the harsh elements and then you had to deal with the witch in the wood. Puritans believed in the active existence of the devil and unexplained phenomena was often blamed on witches, most often women who broke the mold of religious piety and subservience. With this as his backdrop, writer and director Robert Eggers created what Indiewire called “a demon possessed Terrence Malick film.” His movie has been praised by the Satanic Temple as “a criticism of a theocratic patriarchal society and a fair representation of the stresses that puts on a community.” That’s right, it’s time to talk about The Witch.

Joining us today as we discuss religion, the supernatural and maybe a little dose of female empowerment are Rosemary and Steve.
