Hey Scaredy Cats. It’s rare for a movie to pretty much bomb upon release, practically ruining the career of its director only to be critically lauded within a couple of decades. I’m not talking about a movie becoming a cult classic after having been discovered and celebrated by fans. I’m talking about a movie that received reviews stating that the only way to deal with a movie like this was to flush it down the toilet. Twenty years later, a critic would write “if I were forced at the point of a sharpened tripod leg, to name the ten best films I have ever seen, that list would include Peeping Tom.”
