SBT 10-Week Meditation Program - Week 10 Teaching - Union with Mindfulness Meditation. Meditation is a technique that develops clarity, wisdom, objectivity, and mental/emotional stability. It’s a method of self-inquiry and self-discovery that is both developmental and revelatory. A practice aimed at becoming more aware and present in our daily lives, through which we gain insight and understanding into ourselves, others, and our environment. Anyone can learn to meditate. It does not require a belief system or a commitment to any group or tradition. The technique can be as simple as closing your eyes and focusing on the inflow and outflow of the breath, which works to calm and stabilize the mind.  This 10-week SBT meditation program is completely free and open to all – from beginners to the advanced. Classes are taught by Ven. Tarpa.

Venerable Tarpa is an American Buddhist monk ordained in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. Ven. Tharpa offers a modern and progressive presentation of the Buddha's teachings, favoring a more secular approach. Ven. Tarpa is well known for his pragmatic, no-nonsense views, his ability to clarify complex philosophical points for all audiences, and his familiarity with all traditions of Buddhist thought and non-Buddhist traditions as well.

SBT – the Secular Buddhist Tradition, is an international spiritual community established by Venerable Tarpa. A community dedicated to Secular Buddhism and the timeless wisdom of the Buddha. SBT presents the Buddha’s teachings as neither a religion nor an exotic belief system, sharing a practical presentation focused on the positive life-affirming message of the Buddha while emphasizing those aspects that we deem most illuminating, plausible, and fruitful. The aim of SBT is to inform and guide without sharing presumptions of what to believe.
