An SBS investigation has revealed a Melbourne man, posing as an Australian MP, deceived a displaced Syrian family into paying almost $10,000 with assurances he could get the family asylum in Australia because of his political connections.
The family, speaking out for the first time, tells of the heartache they endured - caught up in his web of lies.
