New World, New Weapon, the Ice Gauntlet [Link]

After hitting a retweet goal, New World threw us a teaser on the new Ice Gauntlet weapon! (https://twitter.com/playnewworld/status/1380596793797447681)

Their initial video on a tweet showed a chunk of ice with something inside of it. Back on April 6th, NW challenged users to hit 200 retweets to reveal what was inside.

No details on the abilities, but gaunlets are a neat alternative to your typical staves

Gauntlets were spotted in very old alpha/beta footage and artwork. Older Ser Medieval YT videos delved pretty deep into these details.

Assassin’s Creed Expansion Delayed [Link]

First off, I will say I’ve been loving the Pagan and Old World references that saturate this game. It is a favorite genre of mine.

The expansion, Wrath of the Druids, planned to come out on April 29, has now been pushed to May 13

Ubisoft tweeted, "We’re working on an article to provide transparency and share insights on our dev process. Thanks for your patience. Keep an eye on our social channels for future news!"

Wrath of the Druids will have players investigate the secrets of a mysterious and ancient cult in Ireland, an island full of "occult forests," gloomy and doomy landscapes, and regional kings you may befriend or offend.

Half-Life: Alyx Being Flattened?? [Link]

I had not heard of this mod project before! Developer SoMNst has been working on this for over a year! It is turning HL:A in to a traditional FPS, expectedly. May be a little slower paced and won’t be as exhilarating as it was inside a headset.

Now, obviously, HL:A is not a game meant for a flat screen, but I am in favor of it! With this being such an amazing game, I think everyone should have a chance to experience the story.

Oculus Quest 2 Officially Going Wireless! [Link]

The Quest 2 is already a great headset for playing VR games independent of a PC or cords.

Anyone who owns a Quest 2 is probably already aware of Virtual Desktop for streaming your PCVR games to your headset. However, Oculus has announced Air Link.

Part of the v28 software update rolling out this month, Air Link is "a completely wireless way to play PC VR content on Quest 2 using WiFi" that you'll be able to opt into in experimental mode.

As is the case with Virtual Desktop, you'll need a strong router, a wired connection from that router to your PC, and to be standing near-ish the router while you play.

"We’ll work to improve Air Link over time," Oculus says, "including performance, visual quality, and the ability to run in less than ideal wireless scenarios."

Oculus also announced native support for the 120Hz display refresh rate!

Virtual Desktop can push this, but it more of a manual setup and dialing in the proper bitrate.
