Making Mistakes and Owning The Process

Everyone makes mistakes. It happens in business and in life. No one is perfect. The key to success is what you learn from each mistake, steps you take to change so it doesn't happen again and owning up to it so you can move forward. Too many people get too focused on the small stuff or what a setback means in the very immediate short term. Take a step back and look at how mistakes and other errors are great teachers and allow us the opportunity to own up to the shortcoming. That ownership puts you in the position of earning back the trust of everyone involved. Why? Because mistakes happen, and your clients, co-workers and associates will not be afraid to trust your judgment if you make everything work for you in a positive way even when things don't go as planned.
