Gospel singer Latice Crawford and Dr. Rani Whitfield will share information about Most Powerful Voices gospel singing competition and stroke, the nation’s fourth leading cause of death and No. 1 preventable cause of disability. The gospel singing competition is part of the American Stroke Association’s Power to End Stroke cause campaign aimed at African-Americans, who are disproportionately affected by stroke. A storefront preacher's daughter, Latice Crawford got her start singing in her cousin's choir. The New York landscape, where she often times gathered inspiration, allowed her to explore her creative capacities - writing, designing fashion and perfecting her signature sound. Latice is gearing up for her highly anticipated debut release with RCA Inspiration which was released on January 28, 2014.
Dr. Rani G. Whitfield, is a Board Certified Family Physician with a Certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Sports medicine, and a national volunteer spokesperson for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. He currently owns a private practice in his native Baton Rouge, LA.
