One of the industries hardest hit by COVID has been the arts, and this week the government announced 175 million dollar package to try and save a predicted 11,000 jobs.But in the meantime, many artists have seen COVID as a challenge, how can they keep doing what they love despite lockdown? That’s what the Auckland Theatre Company did, presenting classic play The Seagull in four, 30 minute online segments over lockdown.
And they’re all still on the company’s website for everyone to watch.One of the show’s leads, theatre legend and current New Zealander of the Year Jennifer Ward-Lealand joins Jack Tame.
