For our first Saturday morning cartoon based off a movie, we watched 2001's Evolution: The Animated Series, aka Alienators: Evolution Continues.
A meteorite carrying alien organisms crashed into a small Arizona town and scientists at the local community college figured out how to stop it, but there's always another organism hiding out there, growing into another threat. Now they ride around town in a fire truck fighting alien monsters with dandruff shampoo. Definitely real science at work!
We talk about translating the actors to animated form, a new innovation in spit takes, and how all three episodes we watched involve a scene in a basement.
