In our inaugural episode, we're talking Ulysses 31, a space opera version of The Odyssey! In this 1981 French/Japanese animated adaptation, Ulysses angers Zeus and is cursed to fly around in space and find the Kingdom of Hades before he can return home. His only companions are his son Telemachus, a handful of robots, a young alien girl, and a giant room full of the floating bodies of the rest of the ship's crew stuck in suspended animation. Every ship's gotta have a floating body room! We talk about the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou, bringing your kid to work, and pets who can swim.
