We're doing a special comparison episode talking about Hanna-Barbera's 1972 attempt at edutainment, Sealab 2020, and Adult Swim's irreverent 2000s version, Sealab 2021, which re-used the original animation with new audio tracks.

"Scientist-pioneers" of all ages work in an underwater base studying the ocean and its creatures, encountering dangers like radiation barrels, compasses you can't read, and a misbehaving dolphin.

In 2021, no one cares about real marine science, they're just arguing about whether or not they would transfer their brains into robot bodies. Will there be a Sealab 2022? We can only dream.
