The pace at which artificial intelligence is being applied to everyday living is such that many don't even realize it is happening. Many of us come in contact with some form of AI on a daily basis and the data shows machines often do it better than humans. In the past we have figured out how people pivot when machines take over but historically machines have taken over jobs that were lower skilled motor function focused. This time it's different because AI is taking over higher skilled knowledge work. As higher skilled labor is replaced and populations grow, could this mean it is time to consider a universal basic income? Are companies that implement AI to replace workers at potential risk of AI regulation or taxation in an attempt to create an economic balance?
