In this sermon we look at three Scripture readings and what they have to do with the season of Christmas. We begin with a passage from Jeremiah and how you have know hopelessness before you know hope. We look at the Christmas story in John’s gospel. Yes, it’s there. A single verse: the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Finally, we look at a passage from Ephesians and a big word about how God retells the story of a broken creation as a story of redemption. We are invited to begin to notice that Christmas is about being on the threshold of something mysterious and wonderful and bigger than we are.
