If you were Sebastian Maniscalco, your father told you to "get a job" when you were eight years old. Maniscalco is one of America's most successful stand-up comedians of all time, after Bob Hope. Call me sentimental, but I miss the days when Girl Scouts came to our door selling cookies: mint, peanut butter and plain. I was one of those Girl Scouts. During the summer, most of my neighbors opened their doors whenever I came calling to take orders for cookies, flower seeds and magazines. My biggest selling item was flower seeds. I was a child entrepreneur who loved to work, talk to people and make a sale. I went door to door for many years until I was 12 years old. Much later I sold encyclopedias, new cars, cooking lessons and musical instruments. More recently I wrote magazine articles and published books.
