Racist Literature in Public Spaces

It has been three years since the removal of the controversial Edward Cornwallis statue in Halifax. Other cities in the nation are having their own conversations about removing similar statues or changing street names that have roots in colonial history. But, should the same treatment be applied to racist, colonial-era books and literature in public spaces?

SaltWire host, Sarah Poko, spoke to Delvina Bernard, an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Advisor at Mount Saint Vincent University, Dr. Margaret Robinson, an Indigenous Studies professor at Dalhousie University, and Masuma Khan, a community activist and artist to discuss the social impact of such books and the legacy they leave behind.
