One of my favorite films from this year's Los Angeles Greek Film Festival was The Unknown Athenians. The film shows the lives of stray dogs living on the streets of Athens, Greece. This seemed to me like a challenging subject matter and because of that, I really wanted to speak with the filmmaker Angeliki Antoniou. The Unknown Athenians recently won the 2021 Hellenic Film Award for Best Documentary (think Oscars for Greece).
On today's episode of the Salt Lake Dirt Podcast, Angeliki talks with me about the documentary, the dogs, and her incredible career as a filmmaker.
