Welcome to Episode 04 of the Undressing The Spirit Podcast! Today my guest is Dr. Robert Cox. Do you find yourself triggered by things that you can't even identify? Do you become anxious, nervous, edgy or sick and find that the past is suddenly right there with you again, right now, instead of where it should be in the past? Is it creating cravings and triggering addictions? These are common experiences and you are certainly not alone!
There is hope. Therapy and mindfulness training have proven very successful in dealing with trauma and addictions rooted in trauma. Learning to breathe through the anxiety and panic that can come with them is the beginning. Trauma and addictions almost always go hand in hand. Robert specializes in walking with his patients through those rough patches. He uses therapy and mindfulness to work towards overcoming the past, repairing damaged relationships and moving into the future with a new ability to set boundaries and hold healthy relationships.
