Alright!  Happy you’re here!  We’ve got a nice big pile of podcast for you to sink your teeth into!  (into which you may sink your teeth)

Today’s conversation is with Sam Haldiman and Jacque Arend of the Torch Theatre!  You’ve all heard us talk about the Torch by now, and you should’ve gone out to see some shows, take some classes, or even get onstage for a hot little jam! (like the one coming up this very Friday!)  The Torch is a fabulous place that generates some of the smartest comedy in Arizona, and it’s a place where you can learn to become a smarter performer.  This interview is about the founding of that fabulous place, and two generous people that helped create it and help it become what it is today.

Jacque and Sam met through improv, helped cultivate a thriving longform scene, got married, and now help spearhead the Phoenix Improv Festival, which brings performers and educators from all around the country to our hot little spot in the desert for one weekend in April.  Now, we’re not saying that you’ll find true love and discover your life’s calling by becoming a part of The Torch Theatre, we’re just saying that it wouldn’t be the first time.

Get out to The Torch this weekend and support The PIMMP Cup!  You’ll see some improv, have a good time, and you’ll help finance PIF14!

Come back to the Torch on the first Saturday of the month (that’s 4/4, just in case) for a free drop-in intro to improv class!

Holy hell, we got our own shit to promote!  Lawn Gnome on 4/3, suckaz!

Alright, that’s enough.  Go to Torch.  Thanks for listening; keep coming out to shows and supporting the Live, Local, Agreeing, Heightening, Independent PHX Comedy Scene!
