Castro kidnapped 3 girls over a period of 2 years within a 5 block area of each other. This began in 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio. One of the victims, Amanda Berry, escaped the house and was able to get a neighbor to call the police and rescue the other 2 women and a child.  Castro committed suicide in prison after his conviction.
