In this Quick Bite, we chat with Lisa Larkin, owner of Asian Kitchen as part of our visit to Tampa, Florida for our half marathon at the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Weekend!

Lisa is from the Tampa area and she sat down to talk with us about the newest of the three restaurants her family has in the area, Asian Kitchen.  It is located on Bayshore Boulevard, a few blocks off of the world-famous Bayshore sidewalk and so very close to MacDill Air Force Base.  Asian Kitchen has only been open a few weeks, but Lisa and her staff are already so busy with both locals, military personnel, and visitors to the area like us!

Lisa is one of the nicest and dedicated people we have ever met. We were lucky to get her to sit down and talk with us for a few minutes because she is so dedicated to talking with customers and supporting her hard-working staff!

This restaurant takes a variety of Asian influences and puts a unique, fast, and fresh take on them.  Lisa talks about her inspiration for opening Asian Kitchen.  My mouth began to water as she talked about some of the dishes we will try on our upcoming episode and quick bites recapping our visit to Tampa for the second part of our Treasured Chest Challenge at the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Weekend!

Be sure to drop by Asian Kitchen if you are in the area.  The food is amazing. (Did we mention they do their own smoked meats, original sauces, and dry rubs for their dishes?)

Be sure to visit Asian Kitchen’s website or their Instagram (which had our mouths watering before we even arrived in the Tampa Bay area!)

Thank you, Lisa, for the outstanding dishes and for welcoming us in like family!
