Ruminating on a Sad Song ep 3

We rejoin Mr Tom Reynolds in Chapter 3 of his work, I hate myself and want to die, “I'm Trying to Be Profound and Touching, but Really Suck at It”. If we needed anymore proof that this book is tongue in cheek this has to be it. While Reynolds seemingly paints all of these odes to loss and misery as comical, I can’t help but still feel that he wouldn’t have zeroed in without some amount of sympathy….I think we’ve looked at these past songs with empathy and sympathy, and dug in a little to the heart of things, but still enjoyed a laugh or two as well. Besides laughter is the best medicine, next to whiskey.
