September 11th is the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and the Town of Gander (NF/Labrador) in partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada and Maureen Basnicki, Founder: Canadian National Day of Service will commemorate that fateful day at Gander, where 39 commercial airliners, with 6,600 passengers were forced to land and the people of Gander exhibited delivered great acts of personal and community kindness.

Maureen Basnicki's husband Ken was killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
