Trump or Trudeau?

Donald Trump.  President.  United States of America.  Policy:  America First. Philosophy: Make America Great Again. The future?

If on the night of November 8, Donald Trump is handed the key to the White House and Oval Office by American voters, what is the potential impact on Canada and Canadians?  In his Republican Convention nominee for POTUS acceptance speech Thursday, Trump slammed NAFTA as the “absolute worst” trade deal the U.S. has “ever” agreed to. He made it abundantly clear a Trump administration will be all about America First!  That includes trade with Canada, as well as the fact the U.S. rapidly becoming a major oil exporter.

Given a bellicose U.S. President to the south, I asked the question on Twitter:  “If Trump wins the White House and puts his America First policy in place, including ripping up NAFTA maybe (which experts say impossible, just as the Trump GOP nomination was impossible) is our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau the equal to a President Donald Trump, in a stare-down, face to face and does PM Trudeau need to put all the power of his office behind pipeline projects heading for Pacific and Atlantic ports ‘now’ in order to export our number 1 commodity….oil?”

Do you believe Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would be an equal to Donald Trump in an economic stare-down as President Trump would confront Canada through his America First demand.
