Kathy Wardle was 73 years of age. She suffered greatly from osteoarthritis. She was Canadian and she did not, because of Canada's federal legislation, have the right to a doctor-assisted death. Kathy Wardle contacted and arranged for a physician-assisted death at the Dignitas Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. Kathy's best friend was her sister Lesley Forrester who accompanied Kathy to the Dignitas clinic where doctors peacefully ended the life of Kathy Wardle.
