Dean del Mastro a former Conservative MP was this week sentenced to one month in prison, four months of house arrest, months on probation and prohibition to run for office for five years following his conviction for violations of the Elections Act. Del Mastro received bail after serving one night in jail. Roy is joined by regulars Michelle Simson and Catherine Swift to discuss if Dean Del Mastro should serve prison time? Also Del Mastro remains eligible for his MP pension due to a senate amendment to Conservative MP John Williamson's C-518 private member's bill, which would have denied convicted MPs/Senators their parliamentary pensions. Did the Senate kill the legislation because MPs and senators are today worried about others who may find themselves trying to persuade a judge/jury they didn't do or claim anything illegally?
