"Who am I to stand from my perch of privilege, surrounded by million-dollar homes and paying for a $60,000 education, to condemn these young men as thugs". Meanwhile, earlier this year, a taxpayer-supported conference on White Privilege, took place in Wisconsin with the objective partly stated as "whites need to acknowledge and work through the negative historical implications of 'Whiteness' and create for ourselves a transformed identity as White people committed to equity and social change." Phone and email invitation to the contact person at the White Privilege Conference to appear on this program received no reply. So what is "white privilege" about?
