Last weekend we spoke about the issue of the federal government's lump sum vs lifetime disability pension issue for injuries suffered by military veterans while in service. Colonel Pat Stogran, Canada's first veterans ombudsman, Major Mark Campbell, double-amputee and one of seven former CAF members leading a class-action lawsuit against the federal government and Sgt. Major Barry Westholm, who resigned from the CAF over the lack of proper treatment for veterans at the JPSU (Joint Personnel Support Unit) Eastern Ontario spoke to the issue. Several listener emails suggested injured veterans may just be after more money when they're already well cared for by Veterans Affairs.
