Today’s podcast:
We get an update on the ongoing Alberta wildfires with Edson, where the mayor is ‘confident’ people will be able to return to their homes on Monday. Let’s get an update from a Global News reporter on his way to the city.
Guest: Slav Kornik, Global News reporter on his way to Edson.
With the wildfires in Alberta raging on, the province is also currently in the middle of it’s provincial election. With the candidates at play – including current premiere Danielle Smith - this election is set to have impacts throughout all of Canada.

The saga of Chinese interfenrence in Canada continues… We’ve got CSIS, we’ve forgotten the search for who this informant is, a lot of it coming out from the Globe and Mail, and we learned this week that there’s more. CSIS now creating and asking for meetings with other Cdn politicians, and they’re not all from one party – one of them is former Conservative party leader Erin O’Toole.
Also, we have the expelled the Chinese Diplomat, then they expelled one of ours in retaliation and there’s possibly more to keep an eye on going forward. For now, let’s talk about the politics involved.
Guest: Lorrie Goldstein, columnist with the Toronto Sun
This week, another police officer killed in the line of duty, OPP Sgt. Mueller. Talking to Dr Gregory Brown about this, and we ask the question: Why are so many police officers dying in Canada this year? And what needs to be done?
