Former Team Canada, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres goaltender Don Edwards is writing a book about the murder of his parents Arnold and Donna Edwards in 1991 by George Lovie of Hamilton. Lovie had been dating Don Edwards sister Michelle. When she ended the relationship Lovie stalked Michelle and murdered her parents as she fled from Lovie to her parents home.
Since being found guilty of first-degree murder in the double homicide Lovie was granted day parole and now spends several nights a week not in his prison cell, but in his own apartment. Don Edwards fears full parole will soon follow. 
I have known the Edwards family since 1991 and have broadcast their story. particularly with Don and his wife Tannis. I also served with Don's sister Jessie on the board of national crime victims advocacy organization CAVEAT.
