OECD predicting a major hit to the world economy. Some $2.3 trillion smaller than was projected last year. If this winter Europe faces energy rationing with gas supplies unavailable to replace those ended from Russia the situation may worsen significantly. Britain, meanwhile is in serious difficulty because of market and bond meltdowns forcing the Bank of England to intervene. OECD warns of "material risk to U.K. financial stability." Canada as a trading nation faces significant challenge as our trading partners wobble on the edge of recession. So....what might we expect? Best, worst and most likely scenarios?
Guest: Dr. Eric Kam. Professor of macroeconomics, Metropolitan University, Toronto.
