What really happened and what was behind the firing of two infectious diseases scientists at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg? A committee of MPs from all parties will now see unredacted all secret documents on why Xiangguo Qui and her husband Keding Cheng were fired and physically escorted out of the laboratory in January of 2021. The MPs will also see all secret documents about the transfer of Ebola and Henipah viruses overseen by Dr. Qui to China's Wuhan Institute of Virology in March of 2019. More than 250 pages of documents have been kept secret from MPs and hundreds more have been partially censored. We speak with the Canadian investigative journalist and author of On the Origin of the Deadliest Pandemic in 100 Years. The book looks closely at the situation at the Winnipeg lab involving the fired scientists and the role China (may have) played.
Guest: Elaine Dewar. Author of On the Origin of the Deadliest Pandemic in 100 Years.
