Mass shootings continue unabated in the U.S. Some 40 mass shootings in 2023 already. We speak with Christian Heyne, vice presidnet of Policy and Programs at Brady United (United Against Gun Violence), one of the most influential national anti gun violence/crime organizations in the United States. Jim Brady, a gun owner and President Ronald Reagan's Press Secretary survived a gunshot to his head during an assassination attempt on President Reagan. Jim Brady and his wife Sarah worked with Republicans and Democrats to pass the bipartisan Brady Bill which ensured background checks were cafried out on gun sales in the U.S. Today Brady continues to work with gun owners and non-gun owners to end America's gun violence epidemic.
Guest: Christian Heyne. VP Policy and Programs at Brady United. Heyne's own family has been impacted by gun violence. On Memorial Day 2005 Christian's mother was killed while his father survived multiple gun shots by a man with a history of violence.
