One of Roy's dogs became seriously ill this past week. Roy paid approximately $3000 for his care, tests, and 48 hours of I.V./antibiotics at an emergency animal hospital. After sending an email update to friends who had inquired after his dog's health, Roy received a response from a friend who questions whether any 'animal' is worth "that kind of money."
