Freedom Convoy organizer Chris Barber is suing the federal government and has entered a statement of claims for Ottawa using the Emergencies Act to freeze his bank accounts and credit and debit cards and making the lives of the Barber family, as well as operating their Saskatchewan trucking business exceedingly difficult.
The lawsuit follows the Federal Court ruling the Trudeau government violated the Charter rights of all Canadians by invoking the Emergencies Act.
According to Barber's lawyers by freezing the bank accounts, credit and debit cards the federal government violated Section 24 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
