MANUMISSION 2001 RELOADED

20 years ago to the day I stepped up to the decks at the Manumission Opening Party (The Good Ship) and opened with Lenny Kravitz "Are You Gonna Go My Way." It was a complete statement of intent and the place went wild, the biggest reaction I have ever had. I closed the party each week in the Coco Loco and armed with just Technics 1210s and CDJ 500s I weaved a tapestry between 80s dance, funky house, rock 'n' roll, soundtracks, synthpop and French touch. To mark my favourite ever summer in Ibiza I have drawn on my memories to create this mix which took me back to those moments of Manumission madness from 7 to 9.30 a.m.



Hoy hace 20 años de aquel día en el que me subí a los platos en la fiesta de inauguración de Manumission (The Good Ship), y abrí con Lenny Kravitz "Are You Gonna Go My Way". Fue toda una declaración de intenciones y el club se volvió loco, la mayor reacción que he tenido nunca. Cerré la fiesta cada semana en el Coco Loco y armado con tan solo unos Technics 1210s y unos CDJ 500s tejí un tapiz entre dance de los 80, funky house, rock 'n' roll, indie, bandas sonoras, synthpop y French touch. Para remorar mi verano favorito en Ibiza, he recurrido a mis recuerdos para crear esta mezcla que me ha transportado a esos momentos de locura de Manumission de 7 a 9.30 de la mañana. Espero trasladarte a todas aquellas emociones con esta sesión conmemorativa.
