Josh Caterer is our guest. And he’s got quite a story. He started a band with two brothers which became the Smoking Popes. They decided to let Josh sing because he was the best at singing and playing while not looking at his hands. They quickly went from recording 18 songs in a day to opening for bands like Green Day. There’s a funny story about that. But with all that success came a pretty big fall in the form of a cocaine overdose. Josh survived and found a new purpose in his Faith. But trying to integrate that into his music was a challenge. After forming Duvall, forming his occasional blues band Jackson Mud, and then returning to Smoking Popes, Josh is releasing a new live solo album. It’s a mix of Popes songs and cover songs.
