John San Juan is our guest. He’s the guitarist for Hushdrops. The band was preparing their third album when they suffered the unexpected passing of their drummer, Joe Camarillo. John talks about how he spent the next few months drinking, until one day he decided the best tribute to Joe would be to finish the album. It’s a really great story of how they were able to use drum tracks by Joe to finish the album. But we start off talking about his childhood obsession with music. He was playing heavy metal covers when he realized he wanted to play like Neil Young. And that’s how the Hushdrops found their sound. Their name is a completely different story, though. Follow the band @hushdrops on social media. Buy the new album, The Static, wherever you get new music. Give us a follow @PerformanceAnx on social media. Since I was caught in traffic when we recorded this, we now join the conversation with John San Juan already in progress on Performance Anxiety on the Pantheon Podcast Network.
