On this edition of Road Trippin', the crew starts by chatting through some NBA storylines including the red-hot Tyler Herro & recapping a "terrible" Celtics West Coast swing. Richard says it takes a player with solid character to come off the bench, especially when they know they could be starting...and that Tyler Herro has really thrived in accepting his role under Erik Spoelstra. RJ also defends his comments regarding what he called a "terrible" Celtics 4-2 road trip. He's holding them to a higher standard and feels they missed an opportunity to send a clear message to the entire Western Conference.
We also welcome in our guest Akbar Gbajabiamila, host of NBC's American Ninja Warrior and CBS' The Talk. Akbar tells us about his time as a hoops star for Crenshaw High in the '90s and how he transitioned from the NFL field to broadcasting. He turns the tables on Richard during a hilarious sports-themed "name game" and says his epically bad first pitch at a Phillies game was actually better than Richard & Channing's!
