Johnson unlikely to get his way on early GE, says academic

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is attempting to call a snap election as he tries to get the country out of the European Union. He's told British MP's he'll give them more time to debate his Brexit deal - but only if they agree to an election on December 12th. Both of Boris Johnson's previous attempts to force an election have been defeated by MPs. The European Union is set to decide this evening New Zealand time, whether to extend next week's deadline for the UK to leave the union.
