Book review - Remote Sympathy by Catherine Chidgey

Set in Nazi Germany, this novel takes us inside the minds of three vividly-drawn characters: Sturmbannfuhrer Dietrich Hahn, newly-appointed camp administrator at Buchenwald, his wife Frau Greta Hahn, and Dr Lenard Weber who has invented an electronic machine that aims to cure cancer. Chidgey's exploration of willful obliviousness is chilling and utterly gripping.
