Workers at the SkyCity Convention Centre are demanding proof that their workplace is safe after the fire which burned for three days in central Auckland.
Those who have returned to work say there has been a strong smell of smoke and have reported experiencing dizziness, headaches, coughing and asthma flareups.
They say they have been told not to speak to media, but have been speaking anonymously to Unite Union.
Unite Union organiser for SkyCity Joe Carolan spoke to Morning Report.
