Fire crews have been wrestling with multiple wildfires across rural north Otago overnight which remain uncontained, forcing some residents to evacuate.
Fire and Emergency was first alerted to the blazes shortly after midnight.
Three seperate fires are burning in the Nenthorn area near Middlemarch, with another fire, estimated at twenty hectares, burning further north in the Earthquakes area near Duntroon.
FENZ incident controller Bobby Lamont spoke to Corin Dann about the fires in Nenthorn.
