A ban on intimate relationships between university staff and students at Victoria University of Wellington is a New Zealand first.
Previously such relationships were 'strongly discouraged'.
Provost Professor Wendy Larner says the issue of inappropriate staff-student relationships had surfaced in response to the University's sexual harassment policy.
She spoke to Corin Dann.
