Plans are underway for camps to house some of the thousands of extra workers needed in Hawke's Bay and Tai Rāwhiti over the next few years.
Transport Agency Waka Kotahi says it's planning two villages which could each house around 150 workers arriving to rebuild crumbled roads and bridges.
And Wairoa is making use of an old school for accommodation.
