The Tūpuna Maunga Authority is rejecting claims Ōwairaka-Mt Albert in Auckland will be clear-felled.
Protesters are attempting to stop the felling of nearly 350 exotic trees on Ōwairaka will continue their action today.
They say residents weren't consulted about the felling, and that the trees are home to native birds and insects.
The Tūpuna Maunga Authority's chair is Paul Majurey.
