The Prime Minister is standing by his decision to not to take any further action against Michael Wood, or start up an independent investigation.
National and ACT want the minister sacked, saying there are serious conflict of interest breaches over his Auckland Airport shareholding.
Michael Wood was stood down from his position as Transport Minister on Tuesday.
He has since said he regrets not selling his $13,000 worth of shares in Auckland airport.
National's acting Auckland spokesperson Paul Goldsmith spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
