National Party leader Christopher Luxon says he is getting daily briefings on the growing conflict in Israel.
That's while government formation talks continue with his party talking separately to ACT and New Zealand First.
But a final deal will need to wait until the 570,000 special votes are all counted by late next week.
Until then, the outgoing Labour administration is keeping government going in caretaker mode.
Christopher Luxon spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
