Supermarket supply costs continue to accelerate, keeping pressure on food prices for consumers.
Infometric's Grocery Supplier Cost Index measures the change in the cost of grocery goods charged by suppliers.
For August it shows an 8.7 per cent rise compared with July's 7.9 per cent increase.
Infometrics principal economist Brad Olsen spoke to Mani Dunlop.
