RNZ's chief executive, Paul Thompson, says the organisation has found 16 articles on the RNZ website that required editing after pro-Russian language was used.
One staff member has been stood down as a result. Mr Thompson says more than 250 articles have been checked so far, dating back to January 2022.
He says he wants to be open and transparent about what RNZ finds, and to fix any problems identified.
He declined an interview with Morning Report.
